  1. VOTERS REGISTRATION EXERCISES IN MBOSI IN JANUARY/ FEBRUARY 2011.

Though this exercise commenced late in Mbosi due to late arrival of the Registration Equipment and Materials, the exercise was reasonably successful as most indigenes were registered within the period allowed by INEC and the Government. About 2600 persons in Mbosi were registered at the close of the registration. Compare this with about 2.01 million people that registered in Anambra State.

We hereby thank all those, especially the Onowu, Dr. C.A. Ezike, Messrs. Arthur Ojinnaka, Vincent Aladi and others who provided accommodation and other logistics support for the INEC Registration officials while the exercise lasted. Special thanks also to Chief Obiorah Ifeanyi, Barr. Allen Onyema, Chief Jude Onyedum, Engr. Chuma Ezeyi, Chief Oliver Ohazumihe, Mr. Titus Uchendu and Mr. Christopher Nwachukwu and the State Government, who donated/granted various sums of money towards the success of the exercise.

We equally extend our gratitude to Hon. Theo Nnorom and his group for the Radio/Newspaper/TV exposure and publications of our position and plight during the period.

KIDNAPPING CASE INVOLVING MRS ANNA EDOKOBI.

Mrs. Anna Edokobi was unfortunately kidnapped in Mbosi in the early hours of 23rd January 2011 from her home and taken to a hide-out in a forest at Uli, where a ransom of N20 million was initially demanded by her kidnappers. Fortunately, she was rescued the following day by a combined team of SARS Operatives acting on intelligence reports.

In the process, two of the kidnappers were shot and killed during the shoot-out, while two others were shot, wounded and arrested but later died while in Police custody. The remaining two escaped. Police investigations are continuing. Regrettably, some accomplices from Mbosi town have been implicated. They are on the run and still at large. Meanwhile the family is still being harassed and under siege. A generator has been reportedly stolen from the compound after this incident by unknown persons.
